ELE Movie Talk 2019

English Language Education is back with another event, Movie Talk. This event was being held on Friday, November 29th 2019 at hall B, 2nd floor. Movie Talk is an annual event that have been held by ELE since 2018. This time they chose “Expression of Freedom” as a theme, regarding to their movie; Les Misérables (2012). It’s a musical movie with story of French’s histories. They invited one of Darmasiswa student from Colombia, Manuel Fernando Rios Sanchez, B.A as a speaker.

There are more than 100 participants in this event. The registration started at 6 P.M. The committee also sold popcorns and drinks for audience so they could enjoy the movie. The event started with an opening from presenters, followed by opening speeches from the head of English Student Department Association (Fakhrur Rozi) and the executive chief (Zephanya Ruth Gabriella). Furthermore, they played the movie for about an hour and has an open discussion about the movie.

As a speaker, Manuel leads this session. He was giving several questions to the audience so they could discuss some main points from the movie. He also gave his opinions, followed by those who also want to share their opinions about the movie. The audience gave various opinions, both positive and negative ones.

Next, they were playing some games. The speaker would give some questions about the characters from the movie and the audience should answer it. The committee already prepared the presents for the winners from games session. They got a pin from ELE and keychains, and the others have a parcels. The event ended with taking photos along with committee members.
