VISSION

To become a library with International quality services and information technology-based knowledge processing resources.

MISSION
  1. Providing sources of knowledge by gathering, disseminating and preserving the scientific wealth of Universitas Internasional Batam to support the implementation of Teaching, Research and Community Service (Three Pillars of Higher Education) at Universitas Internasional Batam.
  2. Improving the diversity and quality of effective and efficient services based on information technology for users.
  3. Optimizing the dissemination of information in higher education in the regional, national and international level.
  4. Organizing effective library management to realize the goals and objectives of the library.

Library of Universitas Internasional Batam has been equipped with an e-library with the aim of becoming a source of information of knowledge and science, particularly in the fields of accounting, management, economics, computers, law, civil engineering, electrical engineering, tourism, architecture, English language education, and another fields to help the learning process, with ease in exploring knowledge by using information technology.

COLLECTION ROOM

1.Book Collection

This collection includes books about accounting, management, economics, computer, law, civil engineering, electrical engineering, hotel management, and also other supporting books. This collection can be read on-site or borrowed according to the rules.

2.Reference Collection

Reference collection is sources of information that are published once and are limited in number. The reference collection includes dictionaries, encyclopedias, directories, annual reports, prospects, law, handbooks, manuals, and others. This collection can only be read on-site or photocopied.

3.Periodic Collection

Periodic collection is a collection of books that are published periodically, such as newspapers, magazines, journals and others. This collection can only be read on-site or photocopied.

READING CORNER

Reading room from UIB Library is equipped with tables and chairs.

SEARCHING FACILITY (OPAC)

Facility provided by UIB library for searching various books is by using OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog), which is a means to search for books based on title, author, subject, keywords, and glossary.

INTERNET FACILITY

The Library provides free internet facility for all library members which are accessible during library working hours.

Rules & Regulations

LIBRARY PROCEDURES

Internet Use Procedures
  • Internet facilities can only be used for library members.
  • Library members who want to use computer must log in to the list of available users.
  • Users of internet must provide a membership card while using this facility
  • Internet usage time is one hour and can only be extended maximum one hour as long as there is no waiting list from other members.
Book Borrowing and Returning Procedures
  • Members must show their Student Card
  • Borrowers hold responsibility in the literature borrowed and are prohibited to lend Student Cards to others
  • Maximum borrowed books:
  • 2 books for students
  • 3 books for lecturers
  • 2 books for staff
  • The period for borrowing books is 1 (one) week and can be extended if the books are not on the waiting list.
  • Reference collections (dictionaries, encyclopedias, research papers, year books, atlases, indexes, abstracts) cannot be borrowed. It can only be read in the reading room.
  • Thesis can only be read in the reading room.
  • Periodical collections (scientific journals, newspapers and magazines) cannot be borrowed and can only be read in the reading room.
  • Guests from outside UIB can only borrow books to read at UIB.
  • Students who will graduate must request a letter/formstating that they do not have any borrowing books from the library at UIB.
  • Returning books must be done during the specified time.
Punishment
  • Delays in returning books are charged Rp 2.500 / book / day for non-reference books.
  • Books that are lost or damaged must be replaced with the same book or with the same amount of money as the price of the lost book.
  • If the book is damaged, but can still be used, the borrower will get a fine according to the percentage of damage.
  • Loss of member cards will be charged Rp 10.000 for replacement costs.
  • Information about the final return of the collection will be posted on the bulletin board.

LIBRARY RULES

  • Before entering the collection room or reading room, customers must fill in the guest book provided
  • Library is a place for reading and learning
  • Customers must maintain security and order in the library
  • Customers are not allowed to eat, drink or smoke in the library
  • Customers must maintain the integrity and security of library equipment
