Rina Shahriyani Shahrullah, Ph.D and Dr.Yudhi Priyo Amboro, the lecturers of Law Faculty, Universitas International Batam (UIB) shared their insights on the integration of Industrial Revolution 4.0 into the field of law on 26 June 2019 at UIB. They presented their papers in the international joint seminar on social studies between UIB and Ming Chi University of Technology. Dr. Shahrullah in her presentation entitled ‘Law in the Era of Industrial Revolution 4.0: ‘Shifting Legal Paradigms, Transforming Approaches, and Re-adjusting Regulations’ pointed out that the citizenship which was granted by Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to a Humanoid named Sophia may establish a new approach to the definition of the subject of law. In this regard, the subject of law may cover ‘natural person, humanoid and juridical person’. In the era of Industrial Revolution 4.0, Artificial Intelligence (AI) which is used to create a humanoid, needs to be accommodated by law. Hence, it becomes imperative to re-adjusting laws to respond Industrial Revolution 4.0.  It is required not only to re-define the subject of law, but also to re-adjust most of legal fields, for example Intellectual Property Law and Employment Law. On the same occasion, Dr. Amboro discussed about ‘The Concern Concept Against Shadow Corporation In Indonesia’.  He explained that the reversal burden of proof doctrine is needed to implement the full concern concept. As the result, if there is international agreement concerning the company’s assets with the State of Parent Company’s domicile, it could make Parent Company assets be confiscated in that state. Other speakers in the seminar are Dr.Iskanda Itan and Dr. Hepy Hefri Ariyanto, both from Faculty of Business of UIB.   The speakers from Ming Chi University of Technology are Pang-Hsiang Yu,Ph.D and Dr.Jau-Roung Chen.
