Head of Postgraduate Study of Law, Universitas Internasional Batam, Rina Shahriyani Shahrullah,Ph.D shared the Community Service Activities of Master of Law students before the lecturers and students of Temasek Polytechnic – School of Business, Singapore  on 21 January 2019 at Universitas Internasional Batam. The Master of Law Program establishes a Community Service to Implement the Sustainable Development Goals in a Coastal Village named Tebing Tinggi Village in Galang District. It is a fisherman village with 200 people. Students and lecturers of Master of Law Program commenced its community service by selecting Goal 6 of the SDGs (Clean Water and Sanitation) due to the poor condition of water in the village. Students collected some money to build a drill well in the village. It is also supported by the Direct Aid Program (DAP) of the Australian Government. They work together with villagers to build the facility. In addition, they also gave advocacies on clean and healthy living behaviors to the villagers. The Program will sustain since each batch of Master of Law students have to conduct their community services in the village. The SDGs are adopted an indicator and guideline to implement the community service activities. During the sharing session, Dr.Shahrullah invites students of Temasek Polytechnic – School of Business to join as volunteers. She emphasizes that the realization of the SDGs can be started from a local and small area, like Tebing Tinggi Coastal Village. Everyone has to engage and contribute to the realization of the SDGs.
