Research Master Plan

Batam International University has formulated its research objectives, strategies, and policies up to the year 2046, which are outlined in the 2021-2046 Research Master Plan. This master plan serves as the guiding framework for policy direction and decision-making in the implementation of research activities at Batam International University. The plan was developed through thorough research and aligns with the university’s vision: “To be an internationally reputable university in producing graduates and advancing Science, Technology, and the Arts that empower communities to address global challenges.”

In order to achieve the university’s vision of becoming a Research University by 2046, the University needs to establish milestones that we will divide into five-year increments. These milestones can be outlined in the following description:

  1. Phase I: Towards a Reputation as a Leading University
  2. Stage II: Becoming an Excellent University
  3. Stage III: Becoming a University with an International Reputation
  4. Stage IV: Becoming a University with an International Reputation
  5. Stage V: Initiation Towards a Research University

In accordance with the University Strategic Plan established through Rector’s Decree No. 015/REK/KEP-UIB/VIII/2021, which states that Batam International University will become a globally competitive research university by 2046. Therefore, the LPPM needs to develop a measurable strategic plan to support the achievement of the university’s vision as stated above. Strategic programs are a collection of work programs that support the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in realizing the university’s vision of becoming a globally competitive research university. The achievement of this vision is formulated in conjunction with the programs outlined in the university’s strategic plan (Renstra). The four strategic programs established by the LPPM are as follows:
