SPMI UIB is planned, implemented, evaluated, controlled and developed its quality on an ongoing basis based on the PPEPP cycle. The PPEPP cycle in question is Standard Setting, Standard Implementation, Standard Implementation Evaluation, Standard Control, and Standard Improvement. SPMI planning, implementation, evaluation, control, and development are based on Higher Education Standards. UIB has compiled Higher Education Standards which include National Higher Education Standards and UIB SPMI Standards. National Higher Education Standards are compiled and developed by the National Higher Education Standards Agency and stipulated in Ministerial Regulations. Meanwhile, UIB SPMI Standards are prepared and developed by UIB and stipulated in the Chancellor’s Decree after being approved by the UIB Foundation and Senate.

SPMI is implemented in all areas of activity, both academic, including education, research and community service, and non-academic, including human resources, student affairs and alumni, facilities and infrastructure, finance, cooperation, and information systems. SPMI at UIB is coordinated by the Internal Quality Assurance Institute (LPMI). LPMI UIB has duties and authorities in the preparation of policy formulation, facilitation, implementation, coordination, supervision, control, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting in the field of SPMI at UIB.  SPMI at the university level is coordinated by LPMI while the implementation of SPMI at the Faculty level is part of the main duties and functions of the Dean.
