The Master’s Program of Universitas Internasional Batam held the Academic Orientation for the Even Semester of the 2024/2025 Academic Year to welcome new students on Saturday, March 22, 2025. The event took place from 09:00 AM to 04:00 PM (WIB) and was attended by 25 new students from the Master of Law program and 21 students from the Master of Management program. The event was conducted offline at the Auditorium, 2nd Floor, Building B, UIB Campus.
The event was hosted by Gilang Ananda, S.Kom., who served as the Master of Ceremony and is also a student of the Master of Management program. The opening session began with a welcoming speech by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Lu Sudirman, S.H., M.M., M.Hum., followed by remarks from the Head of the Master of Management Program, Dr. Ratih Anggraini, S.Pd., M.M. Both speakers also participated in the symbolic presentation of alma mater jackets to the new students.
Following the alma mater jacket presentation, the event continued with an Alumni Sharing session. The session featured Muhammad Widarto, S.H., M.H., and Kartika Eka Putri, S.H. as representatives from the Master of Law program, as well as Winny Yeria, S.E., M.M., and Fidia, S.M. from the Master of Management program. They shared their experiences during their studies at Universitas Internasional Batam. Souvenirs were presented by the Secretary of the Master of Law Program, Ms. Ninne Zahara Silviani, S.H., M.H., and the Secretary of the Master of Management Program, Mr. Edy Yulianto Putra, S.E., M.M.
An explanation of the academic system, curriculum, areas of concentration, and academic regulations was delivered by Ms. Ninne Zahara Silviani, S.H., M.H. to the Master of Law students. A similar presentation was given by the Secretary of the Master of Management Program, Mr. Edy Yulianto Putra, S.E., M.M., to the Master of Management students. “We hope today’s presentation will help you all successfully complete your studies at this university,” said Mr. Edy Yulianto Putra, S.E., M.M.
After the lunch and prayer break, the students were directed to the library for an introduction session led by the Library Technical Services Coordinator, Mr. Rio Gusma Hendra, S.I.P. The event continued with a briefing on the use of academic platforms such as MS Teams and E-learning, presented by Ms. Li Cen, S.Kom., an IT staff member. This was followed by an introduction to the MyPortal student system, delivered by the Head of the Academic Administration Bureau (BAAK), Ms. Mareta Murti, S.Ak., in Labs A214 and A215.
The students were then directed back to the Auditorium in Building B for a presentation on Student Activities by Ms. Evalina Elda Br. Siagian, S.I.Kom., from the Student Affairs Bureau (BPKA), followed by a session on certification and seminars delivered by Ms. Farah Fakhirah Suganda, S.M. The event concluded with information on the Discount Card presented by Mr. Gilang Ananda, S.Kom., and a group photo session led by the MC. Through the Academic Orientation for the Master’s Program at Universitas Internasional Batam for the Odd Semester of the 2024/2025 Academic Year, it is hoped that academic information has been effectively conveyed to new students to help them follow the academic process as expected.
