On Monday, November 25, 2024, the Master of Management Program of Universitas Internasional Batam (UIB) carried out Benchmarking and Cooperation activities with the Master of Sharia Economics (MES) Study Program, State Islamic University (UIN) Sunan Kalijaga, Yogyakarta. This activity aims to strengthen academic relationships, exchange insights, and explore opportunities for cooperation in various fields, including research, curriculum development, and other academic activities.
This activity began with remarks from Mrs. Ria Karina, S.E., M.M. as the Dean of the Faculty of Business and Management, Universitas Internasional Batam who conveyed the importance of Benchmarking as a step to improve the quality of academic programs at the postgraduate level. The Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business of UIN Sunan Kalijaga, Prof. Dr. Misnen Ardiansyah, S.E., M.Si. also introduced the Master of Sharia Economics Study Program which focuses on the development of sharia-based economics, as well as highlighting their various excellent programs.
During the discussion session, the two parties had an active dialogue about the curriculum, teaching methods, and technology-based learning strategies. Universitas Internasional Batam presented their various innovations in integrating technology into the learning process, while UIN Sunan Kalijaga shared their experience in implementing sharia values in economic education.
The Secretary of the Master of Management Study Program of Universitas Internasional Batam, Mr. Edy Yulianto, S.E., M.M. said, “We hope that this Benchmarking and Cooperation can bring real benefits to students and lecturers at both universities.” Dr. Muh. Ghafur Wibowo, S.E., M.Sc. as the Head of the Sharia Economics Master’s Study Program added, “We welcome this collaboration. With the synergy between sharia economics and management, we can create innovations that are relevant to the needs of society and global development.”
This event ended amicably with the signing of a memorandum of understanding as a form of initial commitment in order to realize the various cooperation programs that have been discussed. The group photo session marked the end of this activity, which is expected to bring a positive impact to both institutions and a significant contribution to the world of education.
