Campus Facilities

Universitas Internasional Batam supports the academic system and improves the quality in terms of facilities and infrastructure to provide the best learning experience during the study period. We believe that we are always in the process of building better facilities every year

UIB owns various kinds of facilities that can be used by the UIB Academic Community and the Society.

Public facilities

Various facilities can be accessed by people who wish to gain information about UIB Campus life. 

Universitas Internasional Batam’s Library has been equipped with an e-library with the aim of being a source of knowledge and scientific information, especially in the fields of accounting, management, economics, computers, law, civil engineering, electrical engineering, tourism, architecture, English language education, and other fields. We strive to help the learning process and give ease in exploring knowledge with information technology.

UIB protects and supports the freedom of academics to embrace religions recognized by law. This support is carried out through various facilities, one of which is by providing prayer rooms for Muslims. This prayer room can be found in every building and on the third floor of each. Each prayer room is equipped with various facilities such as mukena (a white robe that covers the head and body of women, worn during prayer), Al Qur’an, prayer mats, carpets, and so on. The cleanliness of the prayer room is also monitored by the General Department and the UIB Muslim student organization.

UIB is one of the campuses that implements the green campus program as a form of concern for the environment and global warming. Therefore, UIB created outdoor social and learning facilities designed in the form of green open parks. This park also aims to be a comfortable interaction space for the entire academic community. 

Apart from being a means of social and environmental interaction, UIB parks also function to protect certain habitats and improve the quality of the atmosphere and support nature conservation.

In order to improve health services for the academic community, UIB also provides clinics that provide basic health services for UIB students, lecturers and staff. The existence of the UIB clinic is a manifestation of one of the missions of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, which is the provision of health services to the campus community.

The student dormitory built on the UIB campus is an effort to meet international standard campus criteria. This dormitory consists of 4 floors with a capacity of 52 rooms which can accommodate up to 200 students from outside Batam City. The dormitory, completed and occupied by students, is assistance from the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), especially the SNVT for Providing Housing for the Riau Islands Province. Apart from the dormitories, the PUPR Ministry is also making road access to the dormitories behind the UIB campus.

Student Facilities

Student are supported by advanced academic education facilities in order to make them comfortable as they pursue their talents 

UIB has a computer laboratory equipped with modern facilities to support learning at the Faculty of Computer Science, training, online tests and other activities. The UIB computer laboratory consists of 7 labs, equipped with computers, air conditioning, LCD screens, projectors, teaching boards, speakers and others. Each computer also has adequate specifications to operate light to heavy applications. 

The UIB Tourism Study Program has five laboratory rooms usually used for practicum activities. The UIB Tourism Laboratory, apart from being the main means for students’ practical activities, also functions as a research and community service laboratory.

The UIB Faculty of Law is committed to producing professional graduates in the field of law, so the undergraduate and master’s programs are supported by adequate judicial laboratory facilities. This laboratory functions as a place for holding practice, formulating models, systems and course mechanisms. 

This judicial practice space is designed according to the real conditions that students will face in the real world of law, so that students can understand various developments in humanitarian norms outside the context of rigid legal theory.

UIB has an ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) or Alternative Dispute Resolution (APS) laboratory which teaches students a method for resolving disputes outside of litigation. In this room students are introduced to forms of ADR by training them to apply consultation, negotiation, conciliation, mediation, expert assessment and arbitration activities.

UIB has a language laboratory that can be used for learning speaking and micro teaching. This language laboratory is equipped with audio-visual equipment, computers and other facilities to provide intensive development of language skills. In the micro teaching laboratory, a real classroom room was also designed as a simulation place to prepare students to become professional educators.

Supporting facilities

UIB has supporting facilities that can be used by UIB students and the public society who wishes to visit UIB 

As one of the universities that often holds activities on campus, UIB provides an auditorium which is supported by modern facilities such as LCD screens, projectors, stages, air conditioning, and others. This auditorium is in Building B on floors 1, 2 and 6, auditorium B on the 1st floor can accommodate 250 people, the 2nd floor auditorium can accommodate 200 people, and the 6th floor auditorium can accommodate 400 people. This facility can also be used by external agencies and companies for seminars, workshops or public lectures. Agencies that wish to borrow auditorium facilities can confirm with the relevant bureau to obtain information regarding facility rental costs.

In the digital era, the role of technology has become important as a supporting aspect for various jobs and educational processes. Therefore, UIB provides internet network facilities that can be used by all students, lecturers and staff throughout the campus area for free. The internet facilities provided.

Students of Universitas Internasional Batam are not only talented in academics, but also talented in arts and music. Therefore, UIB provides adequate facilities for them to develop and sharpen their talents in art and music. UIB students can use this facility freely, but they must remain responsible for ensuring that the quality and condition of the facility is maintained. 

 

The arts and music facilities available include a music studio and dance studio. 

 

The UIB music studio is in building B and is equipped with various musical instruments such as guitar, piano, microphone, drums, and others, which is suitable for students to practice or study music. This studio is designed with a soundproof room so that it will not disturb other students who are outside. 

The dance studio is located opposite to the music studio. This room is equipped with mirrors attached along the walls, so it is very helpful in practicing dance.

As a supporter of creating a Digital Campus and developing innovation, UIB uses learning methods through video conferencing and multimedia. This program aims to build an e-learning learning system.

UIB has a canteen service that provides various foods and drinks needed by the entire academic community. All stands or outlets in the UIB canteen are occupied by culinary business actors on a rental basis, which is managed and controlled by the general affairs bureau to ensure that all vendors comply with regulations and hygiene standards. 

The UIB campus is currently equipped with gym equipment for the academic community. This policy was implemented to support the need for sports on campus, so that all campus residents maintain their fitness and health despite the busy schedule of teaching and learning activities. This gym is equipped with various sports equipment that can be used based on applicable regulations.

UIB has a meditation room provided for the academic community with the aim of releasing the burden on the mind from various busy campus activities. Meditation activities are also known as a method of increasing the level of awareness, relaxation, calm and concentration of the mind, therefore it requires a room or place that is quite calm. Based on the need for space to carry out meditation, UIB provides facilities that can support this activity.

The research lounge is one of the facilities provided by UIB for lecturers and students intended as a discussion or research guidance space. This room is equipped with two long tables, chairs, infocus, AC and Wi-Fi. This research lounge is located in Building B UIB, 3rd floor.

The Discussion Area is an open space facility located next to the UIB canteen, which is intended as a place to gather and discuss in a relaxed manner. In this place there are tables and chairs available in a semi-outdoor room. The discussion area provides stands selling snacks and soft drinks.

UIB has indoor and outdoor sports facilities that students can use to carry out sports activities. Currently, UIB has also carried out development by providing a new building for sports, namely the GOR with a capacity of 800 people which is located behind building B. With the construction of this GOR, sports facilities at UIB will increase, such as badminton, basketball, futsal, volleyball and others.

Disability Facilities

Universitas Internasional Batam (UIB) is a disability-friendly campus, because it provides facilities to make it easier for students with disabilities to carry out their activities.
