On July 3-4, 2024, the International Conference On Frontiers In Entrepreneurship, Management, Economic and Sustainability (ICon FEMES) was held with the theme “Emerging Management and Entrepreneurship in Transformative Era” at Ibis Style Johor Iskandar Puteri, Johor Darul Takzim, Malaysia. This event was attended by lecturers and students from the Master of Management Study Program of Universitas Internasional Batam through the Zoom Meeting platform.
ICon FEMES is a new flagship initiative from the Faculty of Management, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), which aims to advance research in the fields of management, finance, accounting, business, and information systems. These initiatives make a significant contribution to research and knowledge dissemination, providing valuable input to help people connect, engage in communities, and grow businesses digitally. Similarly, in the academic world, to connect people and industry partners, grow together with the latest knowledge.
The event, which lasted for two days, presented participants from various countries, including four Master of Management students from Universitas Internasional Batam, namely Anna Isabella Lau, Yovita Yolanda Budiman, Jeri Liani, and Miftahul Jannah. In their research, students were assisted by lecturers, namely Mr. Dr. Hepy Hefri Ariyanto, S.E., M.M., Mrs. Dr. Ratih Anggraini, S.Pd., M.M., Mrs. Dr. Lily Purwianti, S.E., M.M., M.Sc., Mr. Edy Yulianto Putra, S.M., M.M., and Mr. Dr. Agustinus Setyawan, S.T., M.M. The students presented the results of their research in the field of management and entrepreneurship that were relevant to the theme of the conference.
Professor Dr. Ahmad Jusoh as the Dean of the Faculty of Management, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia said, “Participation in international conferences such as ICon FEMES is a great opportunity for students and lecturers from various universities to expand their horizons, share knowledge, and network with academics and practitioners from all over the world. We thank everyone for participating and contributing to the global discussion on management and entrepreneurship.”
This experience is invaluable to Universitas Internasional Batam. Lecturers and students not only get the opportunity to present research, but also learn from presentations and discussions led by experts in their fields.
The conference was a success, coupled with in-depth interactive discussions about the research that had been conducted. The active participation of students and lecturers of Universitas Internasional Batam at ICon FEMES is expected to make a positive contribution to their academic and professional development, as well as strengthen the position of Universitas Internasional Batam in the international academic community.
