Batam, March 10, 2026 – PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia International (Telin) once again demonstrated its commitment to contributing to society through the the Community Development Program (CDP) RAFI 2026 (Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr). This initiative is part of Telin’s annual program to welcome the holy month Ramadhan and Eid al-Fitr by organizing social and community empowerment activities.

This year, Telin collaborated with Universitas Internasional Batam (UIB) through the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) to organize program titled “Sahabat Pintar: Education and Training on Circular-Based Local Food Product Innovation to Support the Development of Educational Tourism in Sambau Village”. The kick-off event was held at the Sambau Village Office, Nongsa District, Batam City, on Friday, March 6, 2026.
The program is scheduled to run continuously until April 29, 2026, consisting of four sessions of educational and training activities for the Sambau Village community. The program involves academic members from various study programs at UIB, including Biology, Nutrition, Tourism, and English Language Education.

The kick-off event was attended by the Sambau Village community, including kelompok wanita tani, MSME actors, and local residents. From Universitas Internasional Batam, the event involved members of the academic community, including Dr. Hari Sutra Disemadi, S.H., M.H., Head of LPPM UIB, along with a team of lecturers from several study programs such as Biology, Nutrition, Tourism, and Information Systems, as well as several students.
Meanwhile, representatives from Telin included Irawan Satrio Leksono and Jordan Andrean as Commissioners of Telin, as well as Abdul Rahman Ansyori, Chief Technology Officer of Telin, together with Telin’s senior leaders. This activity also received direct support from Raja Zulkarnain, Head of Sambau Village.
In his remarks, Abdul Rahman Ansyori, Chief Technology Officer of Telin, stated that the program is part of the company’s effort to create sustainable social impact through local community empowerment. Through a collaborative approach involving universities and local government, Telin hopes that the community will gain new knowledge and skills that can enhance economic value and tourism potential in the Sambau area.
The program also received appreciation from Raja Zulkarnain, Head of Sambau Village, for the collaboration between Telin and Universitas Internasional Batam. He expressed hope that the program would provide sustainable benefits and encourage the community to become more active in developing initiatives that support the progress of Sambau Village.

Material Presentation by UIB Lecturers
During the session, participants received various educational materials related to the utilization of local resources. The first session was delivered by the UIB Nutrition Study Program team, discussing local food and its nutritional content, aimed at increasing public understanding of the potential of local food as a source of nutrition and business opportunity. Next, the Biology Study Program team presented the benefits of hydroponic plants and Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA) as an alternative for sustainable household-scale agriculture development.
In addition, the Tourism Study Program presented the potential of local food as part of the development of circular economy-based educational tourism in Sambau Village. The circular economy approach is expected to encourage sustainable resource utilization while creating added value for the community, particularly in developing local food products that can become tourist attractions.

Participant Enthusiasm
Throughout the activity, participants showed high enthusiasm by actively engaging in the material sessions presented by the speaker, participating in discussions, and asking various questions related to the development of local potential in their area. This enthusiasm reflects the community’s spirit to continue learning and developing local potential as business opportunities as well as sustainable tourism attractions in Sambau.
Through this program, Telin and Universitas Internasional Batam hope that the Sambau community will not only gain new knowledge but also be able to develop innovative local food products with economic value that support community-based educational tourism. This collaboration is expected to serve as an example of synergy between industry, academia, and government in promoting sustainable community development. It is also aligned with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles and contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through community empowerment and sustainable local economic development.
