IRO UIB Embraces the Spirit of Ramadan with Monev and Iftar Gathering

Batam, March 9, 2025 – Universitas Internasional Batam (UIB) held a Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) session for international students, followed by an Iftar Gathering, on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at Zest Hotel, Harbour Bay, Batam. The event was attended by eight international students currently studying at UIB and aimed to assess their academic and social experiences while strengthening their connection with the university community through the tradition of breaking fast together.

During the open discussion session, international students shared their experiences studying at UIB, including the challenges they faced and the support they needed. This discussion served as a platform for the university to gain deeper insights into the needs of international students and enhance academic and welfare services accordingly.

According to Duke, the Monev session plays a crucial role in supporting international students. “We want to ensure that our international students feel comfortable and well-supported throughout their academic journey at UIB. Through this discussion session, we can better understand the difficulties they encounter and find solutions together,” he stated.

Following the Monev session, the event continued with an Iftar Gathering, creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere. The participants enjoyed traditional iftar meals while sharing stories about Ramadan traditions in their respective countries. This event not only served as a moment of reflection but also enriched cultural understanding within UIB’s academic environment.

Through this initiative, UIB aims to continuously strengthen its communication with international students and foster an inclusive, tolerant, and culturally diverse campus environment.
