IROTALK: Go International With Us

On November 23, 2024, just a week after the successful conclusion of the IROTALK Webinar series, an initiative by the International Relations Office (IRO) at Universitas Internasional Batam (UIB), the series has already made a remarkable impact, attracting a diverse audience and generating vibrant engagement. With three impactful sessions already completed, it has become a popular platform for students to explore UIB’s international programs and global opportunities.

The first session, “Global Perspectives, Local Impact: Expanding Horizons with IISMA!”, offered a deep dive into the IISMA program, where participants gained firsthand insights into international experiences from students who studied abroad. This session was delivered in a relaxed, podcast-style format, encouraging a natural flow of conversation, which made the audience and speakers feel more at ease and comfortable to engage. The dynamic exchange of ideas and the audience’s thoughtful questions made it clear that the IISMA program sparked great interest and curiosity.

The second session, “Study, Travel, Live: What It’s Really Like on a Student Exchange!”, focused on student experiences from UIB’s Student Exchange Programs, with a special look at Hanbat University in South Korea. The relaxed podcast-style setting allowed for an informal yet engaging discussion, making the speakers and audience feel like they were chatting over coffee rather than participating in a formal seminar. This helped students feel more comfortable asking questions about cultural exchange, life abroad, and practical matters related to student exchange programs.

The third session, “Master’s in No Time: How the 3+2 Program Fast-Tracks Your Future!”, explored the 3+2 program, which allows students to fast-track their path to a Master’s degree. The casual, conversational format of this session enabled an open dialogue, with the audience eagerly participating and asking insightful questions about the program’s advantages and how it aligns with career development.

Throughout all three webinars, the podcast-style format helped foster a relaxed atmosphere, making the interaction feel more like a friendly conversation than a formal presentation. This format encouraged the audience to ask more questions and allowed the speakers to engage in deeper, more personal discussions, providing real-world insights and practical advice.

The success of the IROTALK Webinar series highlights UIB’s commitment to global education and student engagement. By creating an environment where both the audience and speakers felt comfortable, the series became a valuable resource for students looking to expand their horizons and take advantage of international opportunities.
