Two students from Universitas Internasional Batam (UIB), Jessica Santana (NPM 2331232) and Britney Cholas (NPM 2431068) from the Information Systems Study Program, proudly represented UIB in the 2025 Summer Camp hosted by Ming Chi University of Technology (MCUT), Taiwan. The program, held from August 4–16, 2025, brought together participants from various countries for an immersive experience in language learning, cultural exchange, and academic exploration.
The two-week program featured a rich agenda combining Mandarin language courses, cultural activities, academic lab tours, and whole-day field trips. From exploring the Formosa Plastic Group Museum, joining cultural identity fairs, and engaging in international games, to participating in hands-on workshops and reflection sessions, Jessica and Britney embraced every opportunity to expand their perspectives and connect with peers from different backgrounds.
Jessica and Britney also participated in MCUT’s academic sessions, learning more about Taiwan’s innovation-driven education system and visiting various laboratories on campus. These experiences not only broadened their academic insights but also deepened their appreciation for Taiwan’s culture, traditions, and sustainable development practices.
Reflecting on the experience, Jessica shared her excitement about meeting students from different countries and learning Mandarin in an authentic environment. Britney also expressed how the cultural exchange and collaborative activities inspired her to explore future international engagement opportunities.
The 2025 Summer Camp served as a platform for students to strengthen their intercultural communication skills, gain academic enrichment, and foster international friendships. Their participation aligns with UIB’s commitment to encouraging students to engage in global learning experiences and contribute as active ambassadors of the university on the international stage.
