UIB Showcases Global Academic Collaboration through Visiting Lecturer Session on ESG and AI Integration

The Accounting Study Program of Universitas Internasional Batam (UIB) successfully held an international Visiting Lecturer session titled “Integrating ESG and AI: The Future of Professionally Managed Portfolios” on Tuesday, 09 December 2025. The event was conducted online via Zoom and hosted in collaboration with Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), Malaysia. This session highlighted UIB’s continuous commitment to strengthening global academic engagement and providing international exposure for students and faculty members.

The first session featured Assoc. Prof. Dr. Meiliana from Universitas Internasional Batam. As UIB’s Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Dr. Meiliana delivered a comprehensive presentation titled “Beyond ESG Scores: AI Powered Portfolios for the Next Decade”. Her talk received strong attention for addressing the future landscape of ESG analytics, the growing role of Artificial Intelligence in portfolio assessment, and the evolving expectations of global investment strategies that require data-driven precision and high analytical standards.

The second session was presented by Iwan Suhardjo, S.E., M.Si., PhD from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand. His session, “Beyond Sustainability Reporting: Ethical Sustainability Governance Theoretical Framework”, offered valuable insights into international sustainability governance, ethical frameworks, and the integration of accountability practices in corporate reporting. His presence added significant depth to the discussion, providing participants with a global perspective on sustainability studies.

The event was moderated by Mr. Raymond Ling Leh Bin from Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, who facilitated a dynamic and engaging discussion between speakers and participants.
