Universitas Internasional Batam (UIB) warmly welcomed seven new international undergraduate students during the Welcoming Orientation for International Students 2025, held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM at Universitas Internasional Batam. Among the seven students, two have enrolled in the English Language Education program, two in Information Systems, one in Architecture, one in Management, and one in Law. Their presence adds diversity and vibrancy to UIB’s international community, reflecting the university’s commitment to fostering a global learning environment and enriching intercultural exchange on campus.
The welcoming event was attended by the Heads of Study Programs from the respective departments, including Dr. Hari Sutra Disemadi, S.H., M.H., Head of the Law Study Program; Andina Fasha, S.IP., M.M., Head of the Management Study Program; Ridhayati Farid, S.Psi., M.M., lecturer from the Management Study Program; Leil Badrah Zaki, S.Pd., M.Pd., Head of the English Language Education Study Program; and Tony Wibowo, Ph.D., Head of the Information Systems Study Program. Their attendance demonstrated UIB’s dedication to supporting its international students from the very beginning of their academic journey.
The orientation was led by Theodesia Lady Pratiwi, S.Pd., M.Hum., Head of the International Relations Office (IRO), who expressed her excitement about welcoming the new students and supporting their educational journey in Indonesia.
“UIB is proud to have an increasingly diverse community of learners,” said Theodesia Lady Pratiwi, S.Pd., M.Hum. “We hope this will not only be an opportunity for our international students to gain quality education but also to experience Indonesia’s rich culture and hospitality while sharing their own traditions with our community.”
The event also introduced students to UIB’s academic system, campus facilities, and available student support services. It served as a platform for the students to meet their lecturers, program heads, and fellow students, creating an environment that promotes collaboration and cultural exchange.
With these new additions to UIB’s international community, the university continues to strengthen its role as a globally connected institution, offering students the opportunity to learn, grow, and build meaningful relationships across cultures.
