In a significant stride towards fostering future collaborations and academic synergy, Universitas Internasional Batam (UIB) recently welcomed a delegation from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), specifically from their distinguished Civil Engineering study program. The visit, meticulously scheduled for July 1, 2024, between 14:00 and 18:00 WIB, served as a pivotal moment to deepen discussions and establish concrete plans for collaboration between the two esteemed institutions. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ir. Andri Irfan Rifai, Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Planning at UIB, graciously hosted the visit, extending a warm welcome to the UTM delegation. Joining him was Mrs. Yusra Aulia Sari, S.T., M.URP., Chairperson of the Civil Engineering Undergraduate Program at UIB, who actively participated in the day’s deliberations.
The UTM delegation, comprising eight eminent lecturers renowned for their specialized expertise, engaged in vibrant discussions covering a spectrum of topics vital to both institutions. Among them were Ts. Dr. Mohd Khairul Afzan Bin Mohd Lazi, a distinguished researcher in Pavement and Transportation, and Ts. Dr. Muhammad Farhan Bin Zolkepli, an acclaimed expert in Geotechnics. The visit was marked by enthusiastic exchanges and detailed PowerPoint presentations, where each lecturer introduced their backgrounds and showcased their respective research areas. These presentations laid a solid foundation for exploring potential collaborative projects and initiatives that could benefit both UIB and UTM.
