Visa in Indonesia
To study in Indonesia, foreign students must apply for a visa. A visa is a permit given to foreigners to cross the border.
There are several types of visas for students, namely:
- Visa C-9 is for attending short courses and training (Single Entry)
- Visa C-9B is for attending the Indonesian Language Course (Single Entry)
- Visa E30B is for attending bachelor’s degree study (Multiple Entry)
- Visa E30C is for attending master’s degree study (Multiple Entry)
Document Requirements:
- Letter of Acceptance from the University
- Study Permit from the Ministry of Education and Culture
- Passport with a minimum validity of 18 months before coming to Indonesia
- Cover of Passport
- Passport Photo
- Personal Bank statements in the last three months
- Guarantee Letter from the sponsor
To apply for the visa, foreign students must contact the UIB International Relation Office.
Temporary Stay Permit
For the holder of Visa E30B and E30C, after entering Indonesia with the visa, foreign students must apply for a Temporary Stay Permit (Izin Tinggal Terbatas – ITAS) within 30 days.
ITAS is an Indonesian Limited Stay Permit that can be issued to foreigners subject to certain conditions.
Document Requirements:
- Guarantee and Request Letter from the sponsor
- Letter of Acceptance from the University
- Study Permit from the Ministry of Education and Culture
- Passport with a minimum validity of 18 months before coming to Indonesia
- Domicile Letter
- The ID Card of Sponsor
- The Tax ID Card of Sponsor
- The Decree of Establishment of University
- Notarial Deed of Establishment of University
To apply for the ITAS, foreign students must contact the UIB International Relation Office. For the holders of visas C9 and C9B, the foreign students do not need to apply for temporary stay permits. The holder of visas C9 and C9B will automatically get a visit stay permit (Izin Tinggal Kunjungan – ITK).
