On the 15th of July 2024, Dr. Iskandar Itan, the Rector of UIB, represented UIB in Malaysia for the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Signing Ceremony with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) that was represented by the Vice Chancellor of UTM, Prof. Datuk Ir. Ts. Dr. Ahmad Fauzi Ismail.
The event was also attended by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Prof. Ts. Dr. Ali Selamat, Dean of Faculty of Built Environment & Surveying (FABU), Prof. Sr. Dr. Kherun Nita Ali, and Director of UTM International, Prof. Madya Dr. Mohd Ariffin Abu Hassan. and from the UIB section there were Ria Karina, S.E., M.M. head of the LPMI section, Theodesia Lady Pratiwi, S.Pd., M.Hum head of the International Relations Office and Stivani Ayuning Suwarlan, S.T., M.T. as a lecturer from Architecture.
This collaboration marks a significant milestone in fostering academic and research partnerships between the two prestigious institutions. The MoU aims to promote joint research projects, faculty and student exchanges, and collaborative academic programs that will enhance the educational experiences and opportunities for students from both universities.
During the ceremony, both parties expressed their enthusiasm and commitment to the partnership. Dr. Iskandar Itan highlighted the importance of international cooperation in addressing global challenges and advancing knowledge across borders. He emphasized that this collaboration would not only benefit the institutions involved but also contribute to the broader academic community.
Prof. Datuk Ir. Ts. Dr. Ahmad Fauzi Ismail echoed these sentiments, stating that the MoU would pave the way for innovative research and development initiatives. He also underscored the potential for cross-cultural learning experiences that would enrich the perspectives of students and faculty members alike.
