Study Indonesian Language, Culture, and More at Universitas Internasional Batam (UIB)
Universitas Internasional Batam (UIB) proudly welcomes international students to join the DARMASISWA RI Scholarship Program 2026, a non-degree scholarship program offered by the Government of Indonesia to foreign nationals from countries with diplomatic relations with Indonesia.
Through this program, participants will have the opportunity to study in Indonesia while experiencing Indonesian language, culture, and academic life in a multicultural environment. As one of the host universities, UIB is committed to providing an enriching learning experience and helping international students build meaningful cross-cultural connections during their stay in Indonesia.
Located in Batam, one of Indonesia’s most strategic and international cities, UIB offers a dynamic academic atmosphere with modern facilities and strong international engagement.
Program Timeline:
- Online Registration: 15 May 2026 – 15 June 2026
- Interview & Administration at Indonesian Embassy: 16 June 2026 – 23 June 2026
- Selection by the University: 24 June 2026 – 30 June 2026
- Announcement: 2 July 2026
- Attendance Confirmation: 3 July 2026 – 13 July 2026
- Final Announcement: 14 July 2026
- Flight Itinerary Confirmation: 20 July 2026 – 21 August 2026
- Pre-Departure Briefing at Indonesian Embassy: August 2026
- Orientation Program in Jakarta, Indonesia: 29 August 2026 – 31 August 2026
- Lecture Starts: Early September 2026
Qualifications:
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Foreign nationals
- Have completed secondary education or its equivalent
- Minimum age of 18 years old and maximum age of 32 years old
- Able to communicate in English, proven by an English proficiency certificate (TOEFL/TOEIC/IELTS or other equivalent certificate if applicable)
- In good health condition, proven by a medical certificate
- Have basic knowledge of the selected field of study
- Have strong interest in learning the selected field
- Not registered as a Darmasiswa RI alumnus
- Not registered as a KNB Scholarship alumnus
- Not currently studying in Indonesia
- Not currently working in Indonesia
Scholarship Coverage:
Awardees will receive:
- IDR 4,700,000 monthly living allowance
- IDR 2,000,000 one-time book allowance
- IDR 4,700,000 one-time settlement allowance
In addition, participants will receive accommodation and transportation during the Orientation Program in Jakarta, provided their arrival schedule aligns with the official schedule from the Ministry.
Participants are also advised to prepare additional personal funds for unforeseen expenses during their stay in Indonesia.

Applicants are required to prepare the following documents:
- Curriculum Vitae (CV) / Resume
- Medical Certificate (in English)
- Passport valid for at least 18 months at the time of application
- Recommendation Letter from educational or professional institution (in English)
- Latest academic transcript and certificates (in English)
- English proficiency certificate (if applicable)
- Certificates related to the applied field (if applicable)
- Passport-size color photo
- Essay explaining the purpose of study (maximum 500 words, in English or Bahasa Indonesia)
- Full-body motivation video (maximum 2 minutes, in English or Bahasa Indonesia) explaining:
- motivation for joining the program
- contribution as an ambassador of Indonesian culture after graduation
