Universitas Internasional Batam (UIB), in collaboration with Schoters by Ruangguru, successfully hosted the “Study Abroad Preparation for Youth” webinar on Friday, February 21, 2025. Held online via Zoom from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM WIB, the event provided students with essential insights on securing postgraduate scholarships abroad.
Herlino Prayudha, a representative from Schoters and the keynote speaker, shared practical strategies on navigating scholarship applications, preparing for IELTS, and choosing the right postgraduate program overseas. “Securing a scholarship isn’t just about having good grades—it’s about crafting a strong personal narrative that sets you apart,” he emphasized.
The session saw active participation from UIB students, including Frandy Tansri, who asked, “For education majors, which country would you recommend the most?” In response, Herlino shared his insights: “If you’re looking for the best education systems, countries like Finland, Australia, and Canada are great choices. They not only offer high-quality education programs but also frequently provide scholarships for this field.”
Another student inquired about IELTS preparation, to which Herlino advised, “Practice consistently and familiarize yourself with the test format. Strong reading and writing skills are just as crucial as speaking and listening.”
Moderated by Duke Paopathon Pardede, the webinar was lively and insightful, with students eagerly participating in discussions. As the event wrapped up, Frandy shared his thoughts: “This session really opened my eyes! Now I have a clearer idea of which countries to consider for my education studies.”
