On Monday, October 14, 2024, Mrs. Dessy Aliandrina, Ph.D., CEO of SociopreneurID, visited the Kampung Tua Bakau Selip Tourism Village, Nongsa District, accompanied by Mr. Edy Yulianto, S.E., M.M., Secretary of the Master of Management Study Program at Universitas Internasional Batam (UIB). This activity aims to explore the potential for the development of community-based social entrepreneurship in the tourist village.
The visit began in the late morning, approximately at 10.00 WIB with a warm welcome by community leaders of the Old Village Tourism Village of Bakau Serip. In his remarks, Mr. Edy Yulianto, S.E., M.M. expressed his appreciation to SociopreneurID for paying attention to the development of local communities through a social entrepreneurship approach. He also emphasized the importance of collaboration between academics, communities, and entrepreneurial actors in encouraging sustainable development in tourist villages.
Mrs. Dessy Aliandrina, Ph.D. then explained the concept of socio-entrepreneurship which focuses on empowering the community through a sustainable business approach. She also provided input on how the Kampung Tua Bakau Serip Tourism Village can utilize their local potential, such as the natural beauty and the cultural heritage they own, to attract tourists while empowering the community.
Mrs. Dessy Aliandrina, Ph.D. states that “The Old Mangrove Serip Tourism Village has a very great potential to become a successful model of social entrepreneurship. With good management and support from various parties, this village can create a significant positive impact on the local community.”
All parties hope that this collaboration can be a real example of the success of community-based sustainable development.
