Universitas Internasional Batam (UIB) officially released 18 outbound students who will join international mobility programs in the first semester of the 2026/2027 Academic Year.
Through these programs, UIB students explore global opportunities at partner universities and international institutions in Taiwan, South Korea, and Hong Kong. The programs include the 3+2 International Program, Student Exchange, and International Internship.
These opportunities allow students to expand their academic knowledge and professional experience. At the same time, they can experience different cultures, education systems, and working environments.
UIB Prepares Students for International Experiences
Before departure, UIB provided guidance and motivation to help the students prepare for their programs abroad.
The university also reminded them about their responsibility as UIB representatives. Students are expected to maintain a positive attitude and uphold the university’s reputation during their international journey.
Beyond academic preparation, students can also strengthen their communication skills, independence, adaptability, and cross-cultural understanding.
Therefore, the release activity marked more than a formal departure. It also became the beginning of a new learning journey beyond the UIB campus.
Nine Students Join the 3+2 Program in Taiwan
Nine students will continue their academic journey through the 3+2 International Program at Ming Chi University of Technology (MCUT), Taiwan.
The Management students are:

Meanwhile, the Information Systems students are:

Through this program, students can experience an international academic environment while developing knowledge in their respective fields.
Their participation also reflects UIB’s commitment to providing wider international academic pathways for students.
Law Students Take Part in Student Exchange Programs
Two Law students will join Student Exchange programs at UIB partner universities in East Asia.
Rayvinn Phang will study at the National University of Kaohsiung (NUK), Taiwan.
Meanwhile, Salma Khairunnisa Mardiyah will participate in a student exchange program at Hanbat National University (HBNU), South Korea.
These programs give both students opportunities to experience different learning environments. In addition, they can connect with students from various backgrounds and develop broader international perspectives.
Tourism Students Gain Professional Experience in Hong Kong
UIB students will also gain international professional experience through the Tourism Internship Program in Hong Kong.
At Four Points by Sheraton Hotel, the participants include Andre Pondang, Julies Hutahean, and Ng Jing Wen.
Meanwhile, other Tourism students will undertake internships at Renaissance Harbour View Hotel. They are Farel Haical, Fais Simatupang, Rafa Khoirunnisa, Ryan Danung, Adean, Christian Levtriano, and Ellysia Augris.
Through these internships, students can gain direct experience in the international hospitality industry. They can also develop professional skills that support their future careers.
Different Programs, One Global Learning Mission
Each international mobility program offers a different learning experience.
Students in the 3+2 program will follow a longer academic pathway abroad. Student Exchange participants will experience semester-based learning at partner universities.
Meanwhile, Tourism students will develop their professional skills through international internships.
Although the programs differ, they share one goal: preparing students with stronger global perspectives and competencies.
These international experiences can complement classroom learning at UIB while preparing students for future academic and professional opportunities.
UIB Supports Students Throughout Their Global Journey
Representatives from the study programs and the International Relations Office (IRO) also attended the release activity.
Heads of study programs, lecturers, staff, and other supporting personnel gave guidance and encouragement to the outbound students.
Through collaboration between the study programs and IRO, UIB continues to facilitate international opportunities for students.
The university also encourages participants to actively engage with their host institutions, build international networks, learn from new cultures, and share their experiences after returning to UIB.
Strengthening UIB‘s Internationalization
The departure of the 18 outbound students marks another milestone in UIB‘s internationalization efforts.
Through the 3+2 International Program, Student Exchange, and International Internship, students can learn beyond the classroom and gain first-hand international experience.
UIB expects each participant to represent the university responsibly and return with new knowledge, skills, networks, and perspectives.
These experiences can become valuable milestones in their academic, personal, and professional development.
