Universitas Internasional Batam (UIB) continues to expand academic collaboration with international partners. One of these efforts was carried out through the Academic Visit, Student Mini Symposium, and International Guest Lecture: Collaboration between Architecture Program UIB and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia 2026.
The activity involved the UIB Architecture Program and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). A total of 55 participants, consisting of lecturers and students from both institutions, took part in the academic activities.
Academic Visit UIB and UTM Strengthens Academic Interaction
The activity aimed to facilitate the exchange of academic knowledge and experiences between UIB and UTM. In addition, the program provided students with an opportunity to present their ideas in an international academic forum.
The activities were also designed to improve students’ presentation, communication, and academic discussion skills. Through cross-institutional and cross-cultural interaction, participants gained new perspectives within an international learning environment.
On September 2, 2026, the activity began with the Registration & Opening Ceremony. Participants then joined the Student Mini Symposium, which was held for two hours. Each presentation session included a presentation and question-and-answer session.
Student Mini Symposium and Campus Tour
Following the symposium session, participants took part in the Group Photo and Exchange of Souvenirs. The activity continued with a Campus Tour for the UTM delegation to learn more about the environment and facilities at UIB.
Participants then had a break and dinner before moving to the classroom. The program continued with the International Guest Lecture and concluded with the Farewell session.
Through the Student Mini Symposium, students had an opportunity to present their ideas and engage in discussions with participants from the partner institution. Meanwhile, the International Guest Lecture served as a platform to broaden academic perspectives through interaction in an international environment.
UIB and UTM Open Opportunities for Academic Collaboration
The activity focused not only on knowledge exchange during the program. The UIB Architecture Program and UTM also aimed to develop their academic relationship through various forms of future collaboration.
The opportunities outlined in the proposal include student exchange, guest lectures, seminars, joint academic activities, and collaborative research. In addition, the international experience gained by students is expected to encourage their participation in other international activities.
Through this activity, UIB continues to promote the internationalization of higher education through direct interaction with partner institutions. The collaboration with UTM also contributes to expanding students’ academic perspectives and strengthening UIB’s international relations.
